The brick building of the shaft is a part of the 19th century Adolph Shaft Waterworks (attribute 3.1).
The Machine Shaft completed in 1822, it is oval-shaped and was deepened to 52 m as part of the water supply system. Currently it enables transport to the plant’s underground chambers.
